* Going Dotty

I don’t know what your balls are made of, but mine are wool felt from Nepal… by way of Canal Street. In one of the fluorescent-lit labyrinths of Manhattan’s Chinatown is a hidden gem of a store (or should I say hole in the wall) known as Nepal Handicraft Center. You’ll find felted turtles as handbags and bins of felt bracelets. It’s officially a gold mine (me being the official to declare it as such). I replaced the strap o’balls that originally adorned my bag with a black chain from Pacific Trimming. I think I’ll give the leftovers to a creative friend to see what amazing tchotchkes she can dream up!

Here is my beautiful Sabrina in a set she picked up the same day. So lovely with her oatmeal cardigan! Visit Nepal Handicraft Center for your own sets of balls. 265 Canal Street, Pashmina Mall, store #18, New York, NY 10013.

And let’s not forget the original queen of going dotty. Yayoi Kusama! What is it with Asian women and balls? On that note, have the loveliest of weekends.
